Protection of species
Purpose - To protect animals and plants who living in the wild, to prohibit hunting or at least to control it by authorities.

Duty to give notice - The owner of a protected species, is obliged to inform the appropriate authority not only on his personal qualification to breed but also to make written records on tagging and the change in the birds stock, without hesitation.

Tagging - the identity of the birds. The organization in charge is the German Breeders Federation.

Cites-certificate - ID card. In general, the purchase and sale of specific protected species (appendix I - also known as status A) is legally prohibited. Nevertheless, on an exceptional basis Cites-certificates can be issued. In particular, this applies for birds that are grown up by breeders (in other words in captivity).
