The different appearance between the male and female birds is huge compared to other parrots. The male looks emerald-green, the female appears red and red-brown with a purple/blue-coloured belly. The pinna looks a little bit like a pelt. The most important food is fruits, in particular, carrots due its richness of vitamin C. Further grass, chickweed, dandelion, corncob, celeriac, green peas, spinach, chard, salad and tomatoes. Most of the birds love also grapes, pomegranates, cherries, apples, peaches and oranges. Please note that the female bird is the dominant partner. Quite often the female birds chase the male ones. All in all, these awesome and wonderful coloured birds are desired for breeder.
